ARIZONA COMMUNITY TREE COUNCIL AWARD
On September 25, 2009, the Arizona Community Tree Council, Inc., in cooperation with the Arizona State Land Department – Urban & Community Forestry, honored 19 individual, civic, and corporate entities for their efforts which beautified the local environment with trees. Arizona Homegrown Solutions, then a program of Resources for Health, was a winner in the volunteer category for our collaborative "Planting for Peace” project with local Roots & Shoots youth groups and other volunteers who planted 100 native mesquite trees in the Nuestro Barrio neighborhood. Check out this fun video of Planting for Peace on YouTube!
